PROJECTS

2014 - DOLOMITES, ITALY

Designer: Arch. Andrea Rizzardini  |  Client: private  |  Materials: steel, larch wood

The wood canopy, used as firewood storage, was studied to be a minimal and visually light intervention. Being open on the four sides, the visual field is left free, allowing the eye to capture the landscape without interruptions, leaving substantially unchanged the space in which it is inserted. The steel structure, of which we see only the cylindrical columns, rests on the ground, where a wooden base lifts up the bottom. The roof covering made with larch shingles create a vibrant surface that will soon take the colors of the oxidised wood, going to integrate itself in the surrounding landscape.
